Three tombs have been excavated near the village of Lendas, which is located
on the south coast of central Crete, south of the Asterousia mountains. Double
tomb I and IA (not photographed), located at Papoura, and double tomb II and
IIA, located at Yerokambos, are both to the west of Lendas. Tomb III, (not
photographed), is located at Zervos to the east of Lenda.
Yerokambos was built in Early Minoan I and pottery found on the upper layer
shows that it was still in use during Early Minoan II and Middle Minoan IA.
Tomb IIA contained EM II pottery. The settlement that used Yerokambos tomb
has not been found yet.
Tomb II. The internal diameter of the tomb is 5.15 metres and the thickness
of the wall is 1.9 metres. The remains stand 1.7 metres high at their highest
point. The trilitho entrance, which comprises two single upright stones with
one single capstone resting on top, is 0.6 metre wide. West of the entrance
there is a small compartment which is 1 metre wide. To the east of the tomb
entrance there are four rooms.

Tomb IIA. This tomb is joined onto the outside of the wall of
Tomb II and lies to the south-east of Tomb II. The internal diameter of
this smaller tomb is 3.4 metres and the thickness of the walls is 1 metre.
The entrance must have been to the south-west where the wall has been
destroyed and a stone hut now stands.
The tombs are fenced but can be seen adequately from outside.
